Our Father’s Heart Story
Back in 2011, two sisters, Gilly and Linda, embarked on a two-week trip with their families to the small township of Kumi in Eastern Uganda, never realising the impact this community would have on them.
What they found was a community of friendly and hardworking people, always generous with their time and smiles, who just needed someone to believe in them and particularly in their children to make a big difference.
Back home, plans began in earnest and Our Father’s Heart was born, first supporting a single child called Caroline with her education. With the support of friends and family, OFH soon began sponsoring other children and thanks to the generosity of our donors, we’ve now witnessed first-hand the life changing impact this has had on young people, their families and the wider community around them.
In 2017, we registered the charity here in the Uk, as Our Father’s Heart – a heart of second chances and redemption. Fast forward to now – we’ve come through the pandemic, but its consequences remain far reaching. We’ve rebranded and refreshed our look, and recently registered in Uganda at National level as we look ahead to the next chapter in our story.
